You may have noticed that there’s been a change of scenery at London Indian restaurant The Cinnamon Club in recent weeks!
We are delighted to welcome a brand new exhibition entitled ‘India on the Move’ produced by artist Sim Dhallu.
Born into a Punjabi family, in South London, England in 1988, Sim Dhallu is a self-starter and creative soul. After following a fairly conventional path studying A-Levels and Architecture at University, she embarked on her true passion of Photography focusing on her special interest in her ancestor’s home land.
This is the second of a series of collections focusing on capturing the identity and culture of cities across India. With her acute eye for observation, empathetic depiction of people, and her understanding of photographic language, Sim is interested in discovering the mediums capacity for description and authenticity of documentary photography.
Within this body of work she is exploring notions of identity and sense of place that provides the viewer with an intimate portrayal of the city, its people and their movements. The works are on display throughout the restaurant until early 2015 and a price list can be picked up at the restaurant reception or downloaded VIEW MENU
