Vintage Wine Dinner

On Friday 20th June 2014, The Cinnamon Club will be the toast of London town as it hosts an exclusive five course dinner paired with fine wines from the Loire valley. Set against the book-lined shelves of the Grade II-listed former Old Westminster Library, the ticketed evening will showcase some of the most talked-about wines from one of the most esteemed wine regions of France.

The dinner will showcase the region’s most impressive vintages, with a menu from Head Chef Rakesh Ravindran that balances the fruit, minerality and acidity of the wines. One of the oldest wine making regions in France, Loire valley wines are characterised by a fresh, crisp flavours and high acidity. Sancerre is undoubtedly the greatest name in the Loire and this exclusive menu features a fantastic 2008 Sancerre Moularde, which sells for £90 a bottle, so this is a great chance to try it alongside the sophisticated cooking that top Indian restaurant, The Cinnamon Club, is renowned for.

With wine pairings selected by The Cinnamon Club’s wine buyer Laurent Chaniac, highlights of the dinner include tandoori king prawns with mace and cardamom paired with the Savennieres Cuvee Les Bastes Domaine Des Barres; pan-seared turbot with tomato lemon sauce paired with a 2008 Sancerre Moularde; and a spiced apple crumble with Tellicherry vanilla ice cream paired with the 2012 Coteaux du Lavon Saint Aubin Domaine des Barres.

Tickets to this exclusive one off event cost £90 per person (not including service).
